Jack stands and Floor jack
#2
A place like harbor freight has everything that a normal mechanic would have but at a reasonable price. Use whatever jack will lift it. A couple of tons should do the trick. Get the jack stands with the traditional lever on it. We use them at work to hold cars up. We put on under a car/truck at night to hold it up since the air lifts have a tendency to leak. I'd say that's enough to hold a part of your hummer. I wish I could remember the weight of the jack that we have a work. The fancy brands like Matco and snap on are not as good as the price they are. Ours are matco and they lift everything but they wear out way to quickly.

HF is the best choice and no one will beat them on price. I've had one of their aluminum "racing" jacks for over 10 years and it's still going strong. It's saddle height is a little low but with some wood blocks I've never had an issue lifting the 2. Jack stands are jack stands, nothing special about picking a set.

Agreed.... many of their tools are actually very good. That being said, many of their tools are also disposable one time use garbage. Always good to check the reviews on their site for a specific item or search online for a specific item they have.
