Default HVAc Low side port on 05

I have found a thread but it is for an 08. I don't have the hardline shown in the thread. I see two ports on the high side line. When I remove the cap from the forward most port I start losing charge. I'm guessing thats where my leak is. I will be replacing it. However I will need to recharge the system afterwards. Could someone tell me where the port is for that. I d not see one on the large low side hose. I'd like to get this done before I have to go back to Dubai at the end of the week. I appreciate any assistance.

Please see pictures of what I am working with. The blue circle is the high side. Is the red circle the low side? It is on the same hardline and there are no ports on the low side, Large rubber line. Is there a check valve where the white arrow is pointing? I've got the new valve to replace the one in the blue circle. I don't want to evacuate the system until I know where to connect to refill it. Thank you.

You have to replace the entire line. The valve itself is not repairable. Mine went out a few months ago. It was about $100 I think and a few hours of labor. The line goes to the bottom of the condenser in front of radiator.

I was able to get a replacement High Pressure valve from the local parts store. Part number 52458184. It is included if you purchase the whole line. I put three 1lb. bottles and probably could use one more. The low side is the rear most connector. Same as a 2500HD. The compressor has stopped cycling all of the time and it's blowing pretty cold. I'll try adding another bottle tomorrow. Thx for your response.

Great. My valve was not replaceable, or so I was told.

I looked up the capacity and everything I saw was from 1.6 to 1.8 lbs. I will look up my bill and see what they did. They vacuumed the whole system out so not sure if it will apply.

I'd appreciate that. I'm showing 35psi in the cheapo I gauge I've got. My more experience assistant says it should be closer to 50psi. Also I'm only checking the low side.

Adding some info to an old thread just to clear up a few things.

1. AC pressure is dependent on ambient air temp. Hotter it is outside the higher the pressure readings should be on the low side fill.
Take your readings with the truck running between 1500 and 2000 rpms. Lay the gauge on the windshield if you don't have a helper.

2. The low side Service Port can be serviced with a replacement schrader valve (AC Delco PN 15-1119) any gm r134 valve kit should work.

3. The high side Service Port needs to be replaced. Use AC Delco PN 15-5438 or a generic Autozone MT0105 will work. Don't buy the special socket, it can be removed with a small adjustable wrench. It's not screwed in there that tight.

4. Two 12 ounce r134 cans should plenty to get you back up and running with cold AC.

Hope this helps.
