Hummer H2 Issues
Issue 1:
Transfer Case motor is now shot, the vehicle is stuck in 4 Hi (not so bad I guess), is this something a DIYer can replace? It seems pretty straight forward to me. Anyone done this change out before?
Issue 2:
Air Suspension, seems that my air compressor system is locked up. I think I will just get it replaced, again, same as above, how involved is this replacement?

The H2 transfer case motor is an easy repair and can be performed with minimum tools or effort (if that is what is truly wrong) In most cases it can be swapped out without even having to jack up the vehicle.
Can you tell us a few more details, do you get an error message on the DIC, do the buttons simply not respond or what? It is possible that you have a bad selector button assembly. If you press another mode and the lights just flash and nothing happens
try removing the battery cable for a few minutes, reattaching and try again. This will reset the BCM and clear any errors. Usually when the motor goes bad you will get a service 4wd error message on the DIC.
Air suspension unit, considering how expensive a replacement air compressor assembly is you would be better served to have it checked with a Tech 2 tool just to make sure the compressor is toasted. If so you can delete the system totally and replace the rear air bags to coil springs and be on your way. Many have done that here on the forum and it too is an easy job that can be accomplished in a few hours.

I have a "Service 4WD" message when starting the vehicle. It is in 4 hi, not 4 H Lock, when placing the vehicle in neutral and holding both HI and Lo for 10 secs the Neutral light will flash for about 10 seconds and nothing, stays in 4 hi. Same when selecting a different option. I have attempted to cycle power and same result.
Will get a tech to check the compressor at earliest, but may just go with the coil..

MOVED. It is crazy how this forums site works, when you have an H2 question..... they all go in the............................................... .............. H2 section.
It tells you in the Hummer Forums Help & Suggestion Center "Do NOT post vehicle questions in this section" and This section of the forums is NOT for vehicle questions. It is where you can ask questions about HOW TO USE FORUM FEATURES ONLY!
Any ways, carry on.
Anybody with a couple tools can change a GM T Case encoder motor.

Make sure of the correct procedures for shifting the transfer case to its various modes. Manual pages for that is attached.... For example the transmission must be in neutral to shift the transfer case to neutral. If the shift motor is failed, as mentioned it is easy to replace.
You or a shop will need a Tech2 to do any sort of diagnostics on the air suspension. No other tool that I am aware of has the programming to communicate with the AS module. It the suspension is leaking down then you need to fix the leak first of all. A Tech2 will give you tests for the compressor along with the ability to inflate, defleate, recalibrate the height and verify the sensors and pressures. I personally like the air suspension and prefer keeping it versus just yanking the air bags and sticking coil springs in but many do go that route.
