How to safely jack up the H2 to remove all wheels?
Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
How to safely jack up the H2 to remove all wheels?
How to safely jack up the H2 to remove all wheels?
I need to remove all 4 wheels for new tires.(won't be driving H2 to tire store)
I’m thinking I can jack up the rear from the rear end diff. then place jack stands where? maybe at the rear end link bar?
My jack stands are only 17” fully extended.
Not sure if I can jack both fronts at same time, like theres a skidplate covering the engine cradle so I’m not sure where to place the 3ton floor jack?
or is it recommended to lift one side at a time?
I only have one set of jackstands so I thought I could get away w/ removing the rears an replace one side w/ a flat spare H2 wheel other side use my express 3500 van wheel which is same 8lug pattern but 16" rim.
then remove the fronts.thanks for any tips
I have jacked one side of front w/ piece of wood under the A arm can’t remember where I placed the stand (same 17” stand). I think here.
Remember images are worth a 1K words.thanks for advising
If you only have one set of Jackstands, jack the front up by placing the jack on the front portion of the frame, if your jack and jackstands go high enough place the jackstand on the frame, lower the jack and do the same for the other side, if they are not tall enough try and placing the jackstand under the lower control arm. Then after the front is in the air, use the jack to lift the rear differential and pull the rear wheels, but DO BLOCK it up with tire/wheels, wood or bricks as a safety measure and what ever you do. Don't stick you body parts anywhere that they can be crushed.
You need 4(I use 3ton)jack stands to properly support and a floor jack to lift front and rear. Simply lift the front and rear at the center of the diffs and set the jack stands under the axle extension tubes to the wheels, or frame or control arms on the front. After all wheels off the ground with the jack stands holding the truck, walk around pushing/pulling on all 4 corners to make sure all secured without falling. BTW, ONLY JACK & STAND ON LEVEL GROUND!
