It looks like an issue with the steering wheel, the key fob alarm works ok so it can't be the relay or fuse (checked anyway)

I'm guessing it's the contact ring connection but before I take the airbag out is there anything else to look out for ?

Any suggestions welcome..

 

Geez, you wore it out, honking at those old ladies crossing the street. I don't use the horn, I flash hi beams then rely on my brush guard.
Check the horn contacts

The video's were helpful, plus removing the steering wheel airbag module was super easy.

Bottom line was the slip-ring sping-loaded "Horn Contact" was coated with some kind of contamination or corrosion, which was easy to clean, so all's good now!

Those dirty contacts will get you every time.
