Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
Anyone know if this is specific to the H2 or if there's an equivalent part number for other gm trucks? I'm having a hard time finding the answer researching myself. See attached photo. When I try to use my heated seats the button keeps going crazy like a ghost is continuously pushing it over and over. I'm pretty sure it's not the heating elements becuz I recently replaced them, and when that was the problem the switch was immediately cutting off and not cycling through randomly.

i have seen them in other gm trucks but sometimes they have pedal position buttons as well integrated. you can pop them off and try clean the green crusties from inside i did it to mine before i realized it is my heater element thats bad. they can get wet from the water leaking in by the A-Pillar / roof body seal same goes for the windows / mirror switch. if i remember the clip is on the back and a hook on the front. you try push the switch forward to release sometimes you need something flat to push the rear spring clip in while lifting the back a bit

I'll try taking it out and cleaning it. What were your symptoms for the element though? Was it going from level 1-3 randomly? Or was it shutting off completely when you pressed it on ?
it turns on a few seconds and turns off.
once in a while it works but only worked properly the day i purchased the truck. by the next time i tested it it did not work any more lol. i bough the truck as is so could not take it back.
but your issue sounds like you might have dirty or corroded switches.

Like that one - it will still work perfectly fine. Here is another interesting tidbit. If you get that one you could replace the DDM (drivers door module / power window switches) specifically from a 2005/2007 H2 and those pedal buttons would function as "global windows" buttons which came on the 05-07 H2's. I actually added that to mine. The 03/04 H2's did not have that feature. I made a thread about it some time back when I did it. https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...-2004-a-38594/
The global windows is a pretty neat feature. One quick press of either button opens or closes all windows at once....
Update:
I did absolutely nothing and it seems to be working fine the last few days. If it happens again I guess I'll take it out and clean the electronics on the button module.

I always thought the global windows button was awesome. That's some really good info. Mine is an 04 and I don't have it. Thanks!
I have it now on my 03 but it is not a cheap upgrade since the DDM is so expensive..... I'm not sure if a DDM from an GM SUV with the power adjustable pedals would work but I suspect not. The programming is likely specific to the H2 (it is the only GM SUV with the global windows feature) to control the windows. Using a GM Tech2 it even sees the buttons as power pedals. I guess GM did not bother changing what it is called in the Tech2 software. If you get the buttons and the DDM it is 100% plug and play and literally a 10 minute upgrade though.
