I am currently looking to purchase a transmission for my 2004 Hummer H2. I noticed one on Auto Zone for about $1,400.00 with a $400 core. It also has a 3 year warranty. Is this a good one to purchase? If not, whats a good brand for a hummer? Looking to not pay the dealer prices. Thank you.

Personally, I would rebuild what I have using a reputable local Trans shop adding in some choice HD aftermarket parts for strength and durability. The key there is who does the work. If you do not know a good local Trans repair place, then buying might be a good choice.

Seems like a good deal. I just got a GM certified Serta transmission with 3 year 100k mile warranty from the dealership for my 2003. Price from the dealer was $2100 with a $700 core, not including labor. Labor was 10 hours (another $1k). My original lasted to 205k.
