Default H2 stuck in park...

Hi guys,

A friend of mine owns a H2, and unfortunately can't drive it because the gear selector will not move out of park. Has anyone had this issue? If so, how do you remedy it?

Thanks in advance.

Depress brake pedal, move shifter to gear of choice ... LOL!

Sensor or linkage issue perhaps!?

I'll have to do some digging. Within the last few weeks I remember reading somewhere a guy with the exact same problem. It turned out to be a brake sensor IIRC. If I find it again, I'll be sure to post.

If it IS this, there should be a way to disable this feature, called the Brake Transmission Shift Internlock (BTSI). For emergency purposes, there must always be a way to disable this. Checking the H2 manual, I see there is a fuse specifically for BTSI, so it may be blown. It's also possible the sensor switch is damaged, I don't know exactly where it is on the H2, but would guess it's under the dash, connected to the brake pedal.
