Default H2 Key Fob Replacement Programming - FIXED

Has anyone accomplished the YOUTUBE procedure for programming new key fobs in the H2. Referring to the "hold drivers unlock button then turning key to on then off quickly" procedure? I just tried with two new FOBS, but not having any success. Perhaps that doesn't work on H2's? Or I received a couple of bum remotes.

Fixed -- Pulled the PDM fuse in the I/P fuse panel. It was OK, but after reinstalling it, power was restored to the passenger door module, and everything worked, including the key fob reprogramming process. Thanks to all for input. Much appreciated.

Batteries chk ok. When I do the process, after the 2nd on/off and letting go of the unlock, it cycles the lock/unlock process twice - not just once, then the horn beeps once. No mention of it doing that in any of the instructions or videos.

No sir. This happens before I get to the hold both buttons step. After turning the key off the second time and before I have a chance to release the unlock switch, it cycles to lock then unlocks. As I let the unlock button up it cycles the door locks on then off again, and following that the horn beeps. This happens fast, so I then try to hold the two fob buttons at the same time, but nothing. Held for as long as a minute but no joy.

Thinking it needs to have a dealer look at it.

Is it not telling you it is already programmed once it cycles the locks and gives you-the beep confirmation? That’s where it normally ends, no?

But it does the second cycle and been before I have a chance to even press the FOB buttons, so if it thinks it is "programmed" then it isn't waiting to read the new fobs.

  • Enter Programming Mode – Step 4
  • RELEASE the power UNLOCK button on the Driver’s side door.

Upon release of the UNLOCK button, the vehicle should respond by cycling the door locks LOCK / UNLOCK signaling successful entry into Programming Mode.

    a. IF the door locks cycle, continue to Step 6. If the door locks cycle BEFORE releasing the UNLOCK button, the vehicle has NOT entered Programming Mode and you must RETURN to Step 1.
    b. IF the door locks continue to cycle BEFORE releasing the UNLOCK button, there is a problem with the vehicle’s keyless entry system and the remotes must be programmed by a certified professional Automotive Locksmith or Dealer.

    c. IF you are unable to get the door locks to cycle at all, you are turning the key too quick or too slow, there is a problem with your vehicle’s keyless entry system, or the vehicle is not equipped with keyless entry. Check with a certified professional Automotive Locksmith or Dealer.

Yes sir. ...b is the issue, so seems I will have to go to a locksmith or dealer. Hopefully not serious parts/wiring issue and just a PC (BCM) brain fart. Appreciate the info....

So I discovered that the passenger door seems to have no power at all! This may account for the unusual behavior of the locks cycling before the unlock button is released. Perhaps it doesn't see that door as I read somewhere that all the doors need to be closed and - presumably the power locks functional. It's as if the harness to that door is disconnected. No power lock, window or mirror functions at all. Only thing that works is the speaker in the P door. Really strange.
