Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default H2 Fuel Tank Vent and Rollover Valves

Checking to see if anyone has replaced or repaired the fuel tank vent valve and the fuel tank rollover vent valve on their Hummer H2.
I have a 2005 Hummer H2 and it seems this will be my next EVAP mission.
1) Did you repair them and how, or did you replace them?

2) What parts did you use to replace them? Which parts are the closest match to the original? (from another GMC or vehicle, part #)

3) Was getting out the originals a pain?

4) How did you reseat the new parts?

I have another thread that talks about the problem I am having and everything I had repaired up to this point of needing to replace these vent valves

If Your talking about the Vent valve on top of the tank mine was replaced by the dealer. Except since he had done so many H2's mine being a 2009 this is what he did.

Instead of dropping the tank to get to the vale on top...... he went out and bought a closet door full length mirror. Glued some hefty magnets to each corner. Then put my 2 on the lift and inserted the mirror over the tank and it stuck to the floor.

Then he got his drop light and hooked it up so he could see in the mirror and worked in reverse (Took Some Practice) and removed and installed the new valve looking in the mirror.

Since he was an experienced HUMMER Mechanic and worked at a HUMMER dealership... He came up with an easy way of doing it and making extra money in the given time.

And that's the way it went.

I just pulled mine out through the driver rear fender liner. Can't see **** but easy enough to do by feel. Just remove the liner. Hardest part is the clip that holds it to the tank and the push lock connectors on the hoses.
