Here is a photo of the Thairung Corp. Transformer 2 Max edition. Has Toyota drivetrain. Beautiful two tone leather interior. Cost 2.2 mil baht. The standard edition doesn't have the raised roof a d the winch bumper. Cost 1.6 mil baht. Rear hatch opens like an H3. Spare tire is stowed under rear frame. 30 baht = 1 US Dollar.

 

Basically a Toyota Hilux with a different body on it. Not sure if I like the deep V bumpers on the new Transformers version. I saw photos of the Transformers 2 version originally in red and gold so it was called Transformers but with an Iron Man paint job and looked sort of bizarre. This does look much better in black. I do sort of like them and think one might be fun to get imported (if they would build it on a right hand drive Hilux chassis). The Hilux can come with a few different smallish diesel engines. I wonder how the huge body affects the performance.

 

They also offer a 2 wheel drive model with as automatic transmission. It has a much lower body height for inner city use. I have seen several of the 4WD models during this trip in Thailand. The original model was the one built for the military.. I am planning on buying one when I finish my house in Phrea.

 

These have the latest toyota technology with Nav, back up camera, ect. They have telescoping steering wheel. No sunroof, (Too Hot in Thailand). My favorite is the Galactic Blue. Reminds you of the limited edition colors the H2 had in 2008 2009.

Dont get me wrong. My first Hummer was a 2006 H3 that I had for 9 years. I currently have a 2005 H2 Lux. I plan on living in USA 6 months then Thailand 6 months. Then repeat. Will always have a US based H2 . Hummer Forum makes it possible to maintain and even upgrade your Hummer yourself. But a 15 year old H2 can cost well over $100,000.00 in Thailand and not many here to choose from. Nice to know I can buy something close to my H2 and not have to drive a Susuki pickup while living in Thailand. Thank You Hummer Forum.
