Default Grill Guards fitting, Help please

Quick question please, I've managed to get my self a couple of Grill Guards 1 chrome and one black, looked for a you tube video about fitting, but can only find ones being fitted to a pre 2007 H2 mines a 2008 and the bit below the main 7 bar chrome grill looks different (like its part of the top bit, is the grill 1 part or 2 part like 03-07? please, I think the guard will fit once i get the grill / grills off. also can anyone tell me what size bolts are as my car has got the holes but not the bolts Thanks In advance, Oh and thinking of getting the black one powder coated or painted to match my truck..

I have to take mine off my 2008 H2 this week to upgrade the headlights... I will let you know what I find... you are correct that the fit for 2008/2009 is different. I will get you photos of what is on my H2.

Managed to get the bolts I needed today and took the whole grill off The small grill under the main chrome one is separate but it's easier to remove the whole big 7 bar chrome one to separate.
I then put the stainless Grill Guard one, then added my Convoy duck "good buddy"
Very pleased with the look, but will decide next week when the one painted to match the Solar Flare color of my Hummer arrives.

Looked at mine as well... Here are the steps...

1) You have to remove that small black grille under the chrome grille that says Hummer.

It has 4 clips... two at the top center to connect to the chrome grill and 2 on the side to connect to the body

2) You have to pull that grille off. To get that off without taking off the chrome grille that it is connected to you have to open up the hood and stretch to release the top two clips from the chrome grill.

3. That will loosen it up. Close the hood and you have to pull and wiggle the other clips out. Behind it are the hinges for the hood that the Brush guard mount to.

Now.. interestingly, while the brush guard is connected with 4 bolts... mine was connected with just 2.... so now I need to hunt some down.

Here is the bolt labelled SFT 10.9 which is the grade... not the size. I will need to pull this apart and figure out the bolt size.

On the inside, I can see it is a tapered bolt

@C4EVY - Thanks for the offer! I actually found these on gmpartsdirect.com for like $2... so I should be good!

These are the screws needed for the brush guard:
