Anyone tried to take the Rear Camera Mirror system from a Cadillac or Silverado and install in a Hummer H2? I know that there are aftermarket kits available, but looking to stick with GM parts... Need a much better view of the rear than the standard camera. Infotainment has an OEM upgrade system for Silverados, with a video showing that it really is just 3 components - an OEM mirror, cable and camera... but the hummer would need a much longer cable, probably one from an escalade.

Anyone tried it? Looks like an all day labor intensive job.

 

This guy did it and sold the setup. He mounted a camera in a waterproof box on the roof of his H2. Unfortunately it looks like he removed the pics of his setup after selling it.

He's a great guy totally in Hummers. I bought his rear camera mount that goes behind the spare. My car guy bought me a factory backup camera and mirror. The little camera is hidden in the spare on a hinge so u can adjust it. I now have a full color view behind me.
