Default Electric issue forces cancelled trip...

Getting intermitent "battery not charging" and "service air bag" message and dash lights going out. Then radio got crazy loud.
Alternator gauge drops down to nothing, then back up .

Battery charging at 16-17v, even though dash says it isnt. I hooked up a multimeter.

No heat or AC controls.
Battery light on
Traction light on
Brake light on
Abs light on
Service air bag light on
Service brake light on
Battery not charging message.

At 1 point I gave it some throttle, And engine quit. Started right back up.

Any ideas? BCM, ECM?

My guess is a ground issue somewhere. There are multiple chassis and engine grounds any of which can cause a lot of problems if one is no longer making a good connection.

$325 for the alt.
$109 in labor
I've had the car 6 days.
Dealership doesn't service what they sell, so they sent me down the block to "their" shop.
Dealer said they would pay for the alternator, but they had to order one online, and it would take 4-5 days to be finished.
The shop could get one right away for $325. Dealer only agreed to pay the $112 they would have spent on the alt they ordered online.

That's some BS if I ever heard it.
I couldn't go without the truck for 5 days, so I said change it now and I'll take whatever the dealer chips in.
Ended up costing me $268 plus a $20 tip because they put me in front of some other jobs to save me a 40 minute uber ride home.
