Default Driver door AJAR, hundreds spent and problem still exists

Hello all,
I have read ever forum and page on the internet discussing the door ajar issues some H2s get. I myself sell and install electronics in commercial locations so troubleshooting and fixing is a passion of mine.
After reading all fixes I decided to work on mine. I have a 03 H2
First I checked all wires inside the drivers door to the plugs near the fuse panel to the bcm. All appeared good and plugs were tight.
Then I replaced the door actuator/clasp $199. No change
Then I replaced the BCM and had it programmed at the dealer. $225 bcd $90 program. No change
I then figured out that if I press and hold the drivers seat back heat button, the message goes away. So Im guessing the door either has a ground problem or there another module inside the door not working.

I will fix this correctly, any ideas?

One place you might want to check is the harness where it is located in the door jam. The part where opening and closing the door would wear the coating of the wires down far enough to create that short that is coming up with the problem.

if its not the harness then its the control module, unfortuately since its the one in the dash where the steering colume is it will have to be dismantled. The unit will run around $200 and labor about $800.

i would guess a ground or a contact issue. could be that by pressing the button you are putting just enough pressure to make the conection either at the latch or in the door

After changing the door lock clasp 235.00
Bcm 219.00 plus 1 hour programming at dealership
New door wiring harness 117.00
Countless hours I supplied

The drivers door switch assembly was the problem!!

It has multiple electronics inside it.

That's everything involved. Any questions feel free to contact me!!

Sorry to clarify ,

Last week I tore the door apart again! Traced every wire and noticed pretty much
Every thing plugs into the master window/door lock switch assembly.
That's when I pryed open the switch assembly and found two circuit boards and corrosion.

So after all that the problem was right in front if me.

It amazes me that they would have such an important set of circuit boards,
Sitting in a place that gets wet everytime the door opens in the rain!!

Any questions?
