Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
yeah I know the design of the outer window felt and yes it’s true that when the glass is pressed against it the “C” channel closes up. Once my back is better the pics will make more sense. I have corrosion or calcium build up on a few of the pins, enough that I think over time with the window going up and down it could knock some of the built up corrosion off and if it were a hard enough substance it could cause scratches. Or if it were built up enought and we’re hard enough it could protrude and cause a scratch. All a guess and I haven’t been able to go down and fool with it. Pics are coming tomorrow though. My back is good enough for me to get down there for pics.
I don't want to hijack the thread but I have a window related question for y'all. How hard is it to remove old tint? I want to take the tint off my front windows so I can go darker. Does it just peel off or does it have to be scraped? Is there a residue left after its peeled off? If so can it be removed with goo gone ?
So I’ll try to attach pics. It’s hard to see but the pins that go through the felt strip have a build up of corrosion on them. It does stick out. I just can’t get a clear enough pic... need sunshine (if there is a such thing anymore).
The pins do have these tacks that hold them to the rubber of the weatherstripping, but as your finger shows pulling back the weatherstrip, the flap should prevent the back of the pins from making contact with the glass. Perhaps it's something else within the door that is creating these scratches?
Also, with regards to tint removal; i've used the trashbag/ammonia/sunlight method without fail:
