to do the lines properly the body mounts need to be un done on the drivers side and the body lifted up to gain clearance. but what usually happens is they cut out as much line as is accessible and just throw the lines in wherever they can. usually not clipping them back into the plastic line holders on the chassis.

With the tubing roll, there is no need to remove body mounts! I've have replaced many over a few decades! Just cut out the old and reinstall new, bend and mount into the factory clips. Yes, I have seen many, that thought they could route the the brake line, anywhere.
true but in oceanbraves case i believe he bought the preformed stainless kit from classictube. you do not have to remove the body mounts just unbolt them enough to finagle the lines.
What I found on the reservoir is that it is compartmentalized inside which makes it near impossible to get all the sludge out. Probably could be done but in my case the low cost of a replacement outweighed the amount of time and frustration it would have taken to try. Plus the old reservoir was so yellowed and darkened with age that even with fresh fluid it still looked old and burned. I took a few pics... Looking down into the reservoir you can see an internal wall toward the large part of the tank.
Indeed yours is really bad, mine is probably 10% of that.
I may get a new reservoir too, at the moment I'm struggling with the EBS Unit connectors.
4 lines I've managed to remove, the other two (front left and Master Cylinder) have stripped the gland-nut, so tomorrow is working on that, I'd rather not have to remove the EBS Unit.
Gonna try and make a closer fitting wrench although the one I have are a pretty good fit, there has to be a way!
Lord knows how I'm going to get the new lines in, I took the old ones out in sections and that was hard enough particularly with only enough room to crawl under on a gravel driveway!
Just taking it one bit at a time.

In the end it was not too difficult, the pumps suspended on two pins, slacken nuts on either side and it lifts out. The connector was a puzzle at first, just pull out the locking-tang and the connector comes-off.
After cleraning-off the corrosion from around the remaining glands and pouring-n penetrating oili, it took bench-vice to undo them, no tool could have done it, of course you can't apply heat the valve block, its too valuable and risky.
I was glad, because I was able to clean out the corrosion inside threaded holes using a sharp point, now all the fittings start and screw in real easy by hand which will make re-assembly so much easier.
Also the port assignments are stamped on the aluminum block which confirmed the locations I'd noted down, so all good in that respect.
Now the real stuff starts, putting the brake-lines back in.

Your quite right, the front to rear lines are the most difficult, it was hard enough removing the old ones, I had to cut them up into short bits.

May I ask how many body mounts there and which ones need slackening/undoing?
The LHS one closest to the ABS Pump needs to be lifted a couple of inches ( I think) so if I loosen all the mounts, remove the bolts on the LHS will this be enough to get some movement?
Regarding jacking the body up, are there some strategic/safe points to put in a jack or wedge?
Any suggestions much appreciated.

Re the Brake Fluid Reservoir, as I said mine was not as bad as yours. Since I had to come off anyway, I cleaned it out using IPA (Isopropyl alcohol - widely used in industry) which I don't think attacks this type of plastic and wont damage the float sensor. It did a real good job of desolving the residue, in fact it looked like new. Worse comes to worse I will buy a new one.

So far I have fitted the 4 lines to the font of the vehicle, I now know what a gynecologist has to work with! The ABS Pump has to come out, if for no other reason than to clean out the threads and pre-fit all the line fittings to make sure their glands will wind in all the way by hand, a vital step I'd say.
Saying the work is intense would be an understatement, only being able to crawl underneath the body adds a whole new dimension to the task.
One thing I will say, is that in my brake-lines were in the most dreadful condition, a ticking time bomb! What other hummers of a similar age (2006) must be like is hard to imagine, but people should certainly get the brake lines carefully inspected, better still get them replaced!
there are 12 mounts on the vehicle. 6 per side you can probably leave the front one undisturbed and loose the other 5. as for safe spot there isnt one really you just have to try distribute the load as safe as possible as not to damage the body or floor just try lift it enough to get the job done. and yes it can open a can of worms if your body bolts and mounts are rotted but that just means they where bad to begin with.
