Default Blower Motor

I need to replace the blower motor on my 06 H2. When looking for the replacement I see two versions one for a custom center console and one without. I have no idea if mine has a custom center console or not. When I look at the blower motors for each they look the same. Any help? Thanks in advance.

There are plenty on rock auto but I need to know about this console. The link took me to a resistor.

Your looking at blower motor resistors which are out of stock. I'm looking at blower motors.

Assumed it was a the common controller failure as motors fail not as often.

Presumably you've removed your blower motor assembly, just 3 screws with the one at the back the most trickly.

The motor is 12V DC and will happily spin by applying a couple of volts for testing purposes, the chart below shows the expected current for any given voltage. Take care if applying 12V, the inertia in the motor is substantial and the assembly needs to be physically secured.

This fan is from my 05, I'm fairly confident yours will be the same.

You are correct about the myriad of motor options available from RA, there appears to be a mixture of terminology e.g. Blower Wheel, Center Console, Wheel and impeller, perhaps it should be "impeller"

The impeller is removed by releasing the star lock washer at its' middle, GM GENUINE1580387 provides just the motor plus a spare washer if you decide to keep you old impeller and wish to remain OEM

Think you can ignore the one with manual temperature control (possibly for vehicles where the controller module has failed) as can the FOUR SEASONS35062 (sems a little weird)

All the rest seem to be viable candidates, VDO / CONTINENTALPM9201 provides the most technical info which is encouraging.

RA's little summary is very apt, again I presume yours is the left column or dead.

Hope this is a more useful response

Yeah I already tested the resistor and it is working fine. That looks exactly like mine. I'll grab the VDO one and see how it goes. Thanks for all your help. The center console thing just threw me off.
