Default Air ride switch, but no air ride

Still learning the truck!
I have a rocker switch located where the air ride switch would be, but I don't have air ride.
I would have thought factory would have put in a blank switch plate rather than a switch that does nothing.
Unless this switch runs something else? Am I missing something?

Probably was air ride at one time and has been converted to coils.

This is what I found with mine.
I was hitting the button and could hear the air compressor kick on but no leveling out.... I looked underneath and it has coils now. Which honestly I am glad. i have seen a few Hummers rolling around with blown out rear air suspension and it is such a sad site.
Given I have read alot that the air bags make for such a nice ride though

Now. If you still have the bags, and compressor isint working. I am selling my compressor.
If you happen to be interested.

I have a spare compressor shelf as well..... What you need to determine is if you have the single compressor type or the later dual compressor type. The one I have is the earlier single type. Shipping could also be quite expensive depending on where you live. Mine is in Columbia, SC.

Interesting that the AS can run without bags, maybe the ride height sensors have been locked in position. Also, if the extended ride height button is pressed, how long before it gives up?

That by itself would not work as there are both level and pressure sensors. The level sensors would cause the compressor to cut on in an attempt to level the truck if for example it were heavily loaded, it would never level and cause a service air suspension error.

Indeed, hence this is curious.

If the ride-height sensors were locked, or substituted, the height calibrated to that position and the pipes blocked-off, maybe that would be enough to satisfy the AS software?
