Default Aftermarket upper control Arms

I added a leveling kit to my 2003 H2, the upper control arms hit the metal stops. I have since "loosened" them in order to stop the clunk. Now I want to use the all I can. Is there an upper control arm that is offset like the Rough Country, that doesn't cost 500.00+. I could have just put a 4 in lift kit on for the added things i have had to do. I appreciate it .

Cognito are the ones all the 2500 guys are using, but the price is about the same

I have the Fabtech UCA uniballs on mine for about 6 years now. They've been great.

Um.... there are no metal stops. If you are hitting metal on metal something is missing of very wrong. I'm guessing the front bump stops are missing which on an H2 are actually a pretty critical element of the front suspension. It actually gently sits on them all the time when driving and keeps the wheels from jumping around as much on small bumps at higher speeds as well as making the steering a bit more controlled at speed.

Cranking torsion keys to raise the front any more than about 2 inches is going to make it ride very hard and rough as well as puts massive stress on the upper ball joints and other parts of the front suspension. You can get new UCA's which have angle adjustable ball joints though which are a huge help when you are running with torsion keys that are cranked up more than about two inches.

I'll have to look again but I think the rubber bump stops are for the upward travel, the downward travel stops are metal stops welded to the frame that contact the UCA's. I contacted Cognito a few months back about this as they advertise that their UCA's will allow for more travel with corrected ball joint angle. The person I talked with said their UCA's would give me around 3/4" more travel at the stop which is a good bit at the wheel. I haven't ordered them yet, i need to get the motor back in before starting another project on the H2. He also commented that you'll be at the max limit of the CV shaft angle.

I'm sorry I meant the metal stops that are welded to the frame. I already replaced the "bump stops" for upward travel.

The Fabtech UCA part number is FTS21132. It will fit your ‘03 H2. I have them on my ‘05. Fabtech site lists them at $749, but Amazon has them for $630.74.
Amazon Amazon

When you turn the keys up you end up with too much UCA travel and too little LCA travel. As stated by the other posters, the lower bump stops do help tremendously. There are no factory upper bump stops, but most of the aftermarket UCA’s come with one.

I have my front end apart right now because I needed to replace my steering gearbox and my tie rod ends. I decided to go ahead and replace everything. I’m replacing my Fabtech tie rod ends with the exact same thing because mine lasted 6 years and my H2 is not a concrete king. Not that I do any rock crawling or extreme off-roading, but I put it through its paces.

A pic of what the UCA’s look like at droop.

The bump stop for the Fabtech UCA that contacts the upper metal tab. I have never had it come in contact while driving/off-roading, but working on it right now you can see how it provides protection.

This is the angle on my suspension. Everything is nice and parallel.
Here’s some pics of the Fabtech UCA’s on my H2. The Cognito UCA’s are exactly the same and both brands are very good IMO.
