2008 H2 question on rear hatch hooks
I researched and couldn't find anything. I am just curious if the bottom 2 hooks bolted down and catch the rear hatch latches are supposed to be at different angles. Passenger side rear. Driver's side rear.
looks to have been rear ended before. probabbly why it's bent and the screw pocket is blown out.might be able to pop off the rear plastic cover and see how bad it is.

That's what I thought. When I purchased her I did research before on the VIN and the report stated "very minor accident" which might explain it all.
Thank you all for responding!
God Bless & drive her like you stole her!
Just took at mine which is an 08 H2. Those hooks are definitely angled. When you pull off the trim (just two screws and some pressure fittings) you can see that the body has a wedge built into it to angle those hooks. Using my iPhone level, it says they are angled at 11 degrees... but that is rough since my garage floor may not be level. Can take other measurements if needed...

So you should see that both hooks are at the exact same forward angle, and should be perfectly straight vertically. In your photo the left one looks wonky but that does not mean the Frame is off... the hook may just be bent. Take the trim off and compare both to confirm.
If just the hook is bent, it is called the Liftgate Lock Striker Plate, part number 15182587.
I see it available right now on Amazon... so may be a quick replace.
