As some of you know..... I'm new here...... Just purchased a 2003 hummer h2...... Got a real quick question for y'all....
today I was hunting around on the motor just for ( G P ) and heard what I thought was a good vacuum leak....
I traced it to the pcv on top of the driver side valve cover ( back )........... It's sucking away pretty good....
Are these serviceable? I thought they wear part of the valve cover...... This one pops right out and just sucks constantly with engine running... ( Not rattle sound or anything - even when engine is off )... I pushed it back in place and can still hear it sucking away.....

Truck doesn't run bad or anything - kinda flaky idle but not rough......

Sorry for the newbie question - I'm confused because AutoZone and orally part stores list it like a old school 350 pcv.......

on the 2003 it is just a metered orofice so just an elbow with a hole in it. maybe you need a new rubber grommet in the valve cover. or the hose is cracked

 

Thank you sir...... I pulled in from the cover and plugged it by hand..... The noise stopped....... I'll check the grommet in the morning..... I bet that's the issthe.
