When it is in the disabled state it does nothing and slight clicking, not the starter cylinoid. Just a cycling sound, like all electronics are engaging. the lights come on in the cabin but no attempt to start.

Yes, But it doesn’t blink it just remains solid some people of asked me do I see a blinking lock

 

 

Where's the fob for the am alarm system?

 

Right here, it doesn’t disable it. That’s one of the problems. That’s why everyone has been given strict instructions never hit the lock button, manually lock all the doors!

 

Where's the oem fob?

 

Right here, it’s the same fob, it’s the only fob, I inherited this car from my father when he passed away 10 years ago and this problem just started occurring about six months ago and it only happens if you hit the lock button on the fob or inside the car

Has anyone checked the system for trouble codes? give this a try, when its in security no start leave your key in the ignition, at the “auxiliary” position for about 10-15 minutes until the security light shuts off.
but sounds like there should be codes in the BCM.
