Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default 09' H2 Lux build thread.

As some of you know I've recently purchased a new to me 09' H2. And because I've never been one to leave anything well enough alone I immediately began the customization process. AKA: Project Bank Drain.

The basics at time of purchase:
•2009 Silver H2 SUV Luxury Edition
•186,000 miles (ouch...)
•Slight crank on the stock torsion keys
•Rear air suspension had been previously removed and coil springs installed
•Stock wheels replaced with 17x20 wheels and 35x12.5R20 tires

Current Modifications/Purchases:
•Green torsion keys
•2" rear coil spacers
•3" Body Lift (blocks on Amazon, bolts sourced locally)
•Front & Rear gear swap from 3.73's to 5.13's
•Kryptonite Upper Control arm kit
•Kryptonite SS Center Link and Tie Rod Package
•Kryptonite Idler Support
•Kryptonite Death Grip Pitman Arm
•Kryptonite Death Grip Idler Arm
•17x9 Raceline Halo #957B-79080-12 (4.5" BS) 5ea
•40X13.5R17 Pro Comp Xtreme MT2's 5ea
•Tech 2 Scantool
•.......more to come......

I'm expecting to replace/upgrade the steering box but haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet.

It's in the shop getting the gears swapped out at the moment so photos will have to wait.

I'll update this thread as things progress, stay tuned....

Yes sir:

Gears 5.13
Tire size 39.8"
Transmission final drive ratio .67
RPM 2050
Speed 70mph

RPM 1900
Speed 65mph

Here's a handy gear ratio calculator.

10-4 amigo!

Though my plan is to rebuild it (if needed) and utilize it as an OBA system to air tires back up. But if that plan ever changes you will be the 1st to know 👍

I Have an 09 H2 Lux.... That Air Compressor is slow to air up anything. I tried one day years ago to air up a tire. I could have flown to Florida for lunch and back before it was done. I bought a Truck type Air Compressor that's in a nice small carry Bag. I carry in the cargo area. But I don't use the cig lighter to power it, I clip it to the Battery(Comes with The clips for the battery) and fire up the motor as that sucker will pull your bat bown.

Plus I hate running the 2's compressor for a long long time. Just my $.02 worth...BWTFDIK
