06 h2 towing
Can someone help me out here? I read my manual and I am still a little confused. Want to be sure. Max tow rating is 6,700lbs. So thats everything in my H2 and what ever I have on the back? For instance a dirt bike hitch mount for a 300lb bike. The GCWR is the weight of my H2, everything in it and what I am towing? Correct? My tranny went out at 109K and my shop said my input shaft broke. Would changing to the Fabtech Coil springs at 104k from the air suspension, make this harder on my H2 if I was towing the bike about 30 miles 5 to 10 times out of the year on flat road? I got a Fabtech 6in lift with 38X13.5 20 tires. I also got new Fabech shocks at with the coil spring change.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sounds like you are describing Payload capacity, that is what you can load in/on the vehicle and Payload capacity is 2200. Transmissions always go out on these, the input shaft was probably due to the 38 tires and hard shifting. even with coils these still need air helper spring bags. solution a heavy duty trans cooler and easy on the shifting when fully loaded.

A truck's payload capacity refers to the maximum amount of weight you can safely add to a truck's cargo area in addition to its empty weight (or curb weight). Towing capacity, on the other hand, refers to the maximum weight that a truck can tow after factoring in the weight of any cargo.
