Default 05 hummer spare tire swing arm

Will factory swingarm spare tire off 2005 h2 bolt onto a 2005 h2 SUT?

Yes, all OEM h2 carriers are the same from '04ish to '09. They were built by SMA, offered in '04 as a dealer option, '05 as a factory option.

@clsimmon - I recently purchased a swing arm tire carrier for my 2005 H2. The carrier is 3 bolt on the hinge mount, but bumper/existing tow hook mount is 2 bolt. Do you know of any stability issues when mounting with only 2 bolts?

It's unusual you have an '05 and it does not have the factory outside spare, or the 3 bolt holes for the outside spare as it was introduced that year. I've been told you can use the swing-away without the 3rd bolt without any problems but clearly Hummer engineered it to have three.

I have an 02 H2 and the swing arm is very difficult to rotate. I have greased it but no good. Any idea the make so I can research replacing the bearings?

i would bet moisture got in between the pivot point (where the grease would pack) and caused some slight corrosion. The arm simply should lift out of the pivot point. If I remember back on my 2003 I used a jack to help lift it up and out. It is very heavy - make sure tire is off and still expect approx 50 pounds approx if I recall. Once out clean it with emery cloth and re grease. Once you put back In should be like new again.

There's a locking-bolt locking the groove at the bottom, the inner bearing sleeve i beleive is phosphor bronze.

Also, there is a rubber seal at the top, mine was "shot to bits" so as I couldn't find a replacement I used the original metal part of it with a large O-Ring and tucked inside, figured it couldn't be any worse.

I know was some years back but I think the first version 2003 simply sat in place from weight. I dont recall a set bolt - however that does make sense to have and may of been on a later revision.
