I have a 03 h2 and when I'm at a red light the engine acts like it wants to die. When you hit the gas there Is hesitation and it sputters some. I haven't got any codes or has the check engine light came on. Once up to about 60mph it runs smoother. Have changed the plugs and cleaned throttle body. Could the fuel filter be fouling?

 

Try disconnecting the wire to the mass air sensor. If this clears up the sputtering try cleaning the mass air sensor, carefully with the correct cleaner. If cleaning then doesn't fix it replace it.

Fuel filter would be a good idea, as is the suggestion by NoSpoon. When you buy a filter buy a WIX or AC Delco. The cheap chinese parts store filters are crap.

 

And 2003 happens to be the only year H2 with an actual fuel filter to change.... Its just in front of the fuel tank. Later years just have a screen on the fuel pump inlet, inside the tank.
