!*!*! h2o !*!*!
Hummer had some great engines, especially in the 08 and 09 models.
Yet I see ppl going Duramax/Allison and I hope this year to do the same.
But it makes you think if I ever see the first hummer H2 with a hydrogen engine.
Nope it ain’t something from “back to the future” but more like a real deal.

No hydrogen, electric, plasma or fusion drive for me.
For H2 powertrain upgrades I'm a firm believer that the L5P Duramax with Allison 1000 is the ultimate upgrade for the 08/09 H2, fuel economy, unlimited torque and performance, its got it all.
For the 03-07 the LBZ Duramax is great and offers the same perks. In all honesty if I could justify the cost (and sell my wife on the upgrade) or had an unlimited budget I too would consider it.
Perhaps one of the aftermarkets H2 re-power specialist like Mash or Predator might also consider a GM 6.6 L8T (gas engine) offering in the future for the H2, I'm sure it would be much more cost effective then
the Duramax conversion and provide a nice power boost for the H2 for someone who just wants a modest engine refresh.
Sadly, If GM would have been smart they could have updated the H2, re-introduced it with a Duramax/Allison and would not be able to build them fast enough.
Instead Mary Barra and the GM management swallowed the Biden popsicle and made the GMC-Hummer EV. For an electric vehicle its just overly large, inefficient, unaffordable, and was just plain unnecessary.
But with that said I will be sticking with the L92 and if an when it dies I will send it out for a rebuild (unless of course I win the lottery) haha

I have two of them, a 2015 HD2500 Chevy and a 2022 GMC..
Both are deleted with a straight pipe and performance kit added.
That said you will not think they are Diesels if you go full throttle.
The Chevy gives me on the clock 112 top miles, the GMC gives me 2 more in the books.
iIt been a while as these ain’t made to race, just knowing you got that extra power on the pedal.
