While driving, the car shuts off
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I come from Europe (Slovenia). I own a 1993 H1 (6.2 diesel- M998 6.2 ) hardtop civilian version. Due to a problem that started to appear when the car started to be used, I logged into your forum in the hope of finding an answer.
Approx. 5 or 10 minutes after starting the car during !!! while driving, the car shuts off, I preheat it and it starts normally and doesn't shut off anymore. Maybe someone among you with a similar problem? I have a new fuel filter ordered, but I doubt it would be the problem?
Best Regards, Uros

When I first bought my 1994 half door I was surprised to find that the truck would not go above 62 mph. A month later, the vehicle started shutting off when I was driving down the road. I would pull over, turn the key, and the hummer would start up again. Strange??? Must be a fuel delivery issue. Like you, I started with the fuel filter. Didnt fix it. I could hear the thudding of the fuel pump running so I new that was pumping. Not knowing where the the fuel tank is located I traced the fuel line. This is where I found the issue.
Located on the passenger side, roughly in the middle of the hummer is the stainless steel fuel line. There's a small section the creates an "S" turn with rubber hosing. Over time the rubber hose has dried out and gotten old. This will restrict the fuel and even crimp the fuel line starving the motor. I changed that hose and haven't had a problem since.
