Question Tire Size (New member/owner)

Hello all,

Purchasing a 2002 Wagon today and I've been told I need to change the tires because they are 10 years old (tread is good but they are old). I plan to put the RD4x4 Stage 1 lift on it and have been told 40's are the way to go. My question is, can you put 40 in tires on the factory/OG wheels or do you need to change them? Any recommendations on tires? Anything else I need to consider?

Thank you for any input

What size are your wheels / rims? If they are 16.5" then you'll be hard pressed to find 40's that will fit. Most people that change tires need to change their wheels to something more common like 17". That's what I did. And, ya, you'll need a lift so the 40's will clear the front. I'm not familiar with the lift that you mentioned. Here's what I did: 17" Hutchinson Rock Monster DOT Beadlock Wheels with 40" Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires, 40x13.50R17LT, with CTIS all connected up and a 2" body lift.
