Default Pmd or bad starter

Hey Hummer enthusiast I have a problem with my 2002 H1 when I turn the key the glow plug light turns off right away even when truck is cold I it works the second time I turn the key. It also clicks but won’t fire up I turn the key back and then turn it again and fires up. Not sure what it can be, the check engine light came on after starting it like that a few times. Not sure what it can be if anyone has the or had the same issue I need help thanks !

Yeah I think that might be it but I saw some other post on here and took me down a rabbit hole. I will try to start it once I get a chance to work on it and see what codes the check engine light gives me. I read some of your other post bad PMD, Fuel Pump, glow plug controller, fuel temperature sensor I was overwhelmed. But thank you for your quick response really appreciate it glad there is a place to get some really good info on H1’s. I have to change my oil pressure switch I get good oil pressure when the truck is cold once it warms up it drops on the gauge and goes up to the middle of the gauge when I have my foot on the accelerator only. If you have any advise I this process would love to hear your expertise thanks again 3hummers the post I was talking about you posted 8/24/2010.

Dave at hummerpartsguy.com is a wealth of knowledge on H1s. He is happy to answer questions about the trucks and carries a huge assortment of parts. He is more accessible than most anyone else if you need a quick answer.

Yes sir I was up till 1am doing my research looking for parts and looking through threads. I did stumble upon Dave’s sight I plan on ordering the PMD, oil pressure sensor, glow plug controller and fuel temp sensor to cover my bases. I will definitely reach out to Dave and ask him some questions to diagnose the root of the problem and also have some parts in case something else goes bad. Want to make sure I have it running will also buy the Pmd relocation kit to keep it away from the heat of the fuel pump and engine. Thanks again 3hummers really appreciate the advise and feedback I will post once I have more info and what repairs I made.

Tell Dave hello for me. I haven't bought anything from him lately but have bought parts from him since the day he opened and sold him some out of production parts so he could get duplicates reverse engineered and re-made. I need to see if he ever sourced a manufacturer for the CTIS manifolds I sold him. ( 6012352 and 6015158 ) Those things have become gold since they are out of production.

I will say hi to Dave from you, yeah those parts are gold for sure hard to find. I finally got to look at 2002 H1 and no more check engine light started up just fine glow plugs fine I am stumped. But will definitely keep an eye out to see what it could be it did get colder over here in Chicago so it might be the PMD once it gets hot. I am still going to buy parts to have spare in stock if it ever happens again, also if anyone is looking for the temp control module part#6011451 it’s the same as a the 96-07 gmc savanna found them on eBay for 1/4 of the price new and also they have used oem ones. Just if anyone is in the market and does not want to pay 300 to 400 for one. They also have the ones with the defog buttons for the older models.
