Default P0236 and diesel leak above power steering pump area

Need some help.

I just sold my 2000 H1 to a couple from Nashville, and they've hit some issues I'm trying to help them out with.

I've never seen either issue in the time I owned it, but the diesel leak appears to started on their test drive on Wed and I noticed it Friday when they were coming to pick it up.

It had been a while since it had been driven prior to the Wed test drive.

When I first saw it, I was in a hurry obviously didn't run the whole thing through in my head to realize it wasn't power steering fluid, but just saw that it was coming (or appeared to be coming) from the power steering pump lines area. Now that we've realized it's NOT power steering fluid and is actually diesel, that means it has to be coming from somewhere above the power steering pump and when it runs down it, it just makes it look like the pump is the leak.

The truck is in Nashville with them, and I'm not sure if they've found the source yet, but I know they were going to try to look from the top side. Just trying to see if there's a common issue it could be.

(I found a few threads with different possibilities, mostly relating to rubber seals/plugs, but without the truck to look at, I don't even know exactly where they might be.)

The other issue, which happened to them yesterday while out cruising around was the check engine light came on and is showing P0236.

They said the truck is running fine, all fluids are good, and it's not overheating.

From what I've read, this more than likely a vacuum pump/line issue, or the boost control solenoid. Sound about right?

Again, I don't have access to the truck any longer and they are planning getting to a mechanic this week.

Just trying to help them any possible trouble-shooting to do beforehand either fix it themselves, or at least provide the best info possible to the mechanic.

Any help is appreciated and I'm going to send them a link to this thread so they can follow it and chime in with additional updates/questions.

Turbo boost pressure sensor needing to be replaced is most likely the cause of the P0236 Code. Have they checked the fuel lines on that side of the motor? What year truck is it?

It’s a 2000.

Boost sensor or vacuum line/pump are the things I’ve found most likely causing the code.

Not sure what they’ve found/seen on the fuel leak yet.

Is either issue a typical symptom of it not being driven very often (few hundred miles a year) and then suddenly being driven a few hundred miles in one or two days?
I know anything can happen at any time, but I hate that they’re having these issues immediately after buying it.

Boost sensor is located on the right front manifold. The sensor is held on by two thin, small, black bolts that are prone to snapping. Don't ask how I know. LOL
The fuel leak by the power steering pump sounds like an injector hose. There is really nothing else fuel related by there. Further back on the same side is the fuel filter, near the firewall.
