Default New member question

Hello All,

I just started my search for a Hummer H1(civilian version), We are going to get it wrapped and use it for a promotional vehicle. There are a couple for sale near me 1997-2002 models. None of them have the upgraded engine block or a replaced engine. When I mention the engine issue, most sellers play stupid. My biggest question is pricing, It seems most of these trucks range around 60-70k. Is it worth it to purchase one in that range knowing the engine will need replaced? I'm assuming around 15k for the new engine to be installed. Sorry for the newbie questions, I know how annoying they are. I did search the forums before I asked. Also, I'm near Pittsburgh, if that helps. Thanks in advance. -Dan

The engines that will have to be changed are March'96 and earlier, no?

It's every thing from 1996-2000. I'm not an expert, but I believe they can even track it down to certain VIN ranges. This is my first attempt to buy a H1 and my knowledge base is minimal.
