Metal flake in 95 H1 NP242AMG Transfercase
I recently purchased a 95 H1, noticed on the drive home that it had a vibration at 60 mph plus so decided to change all fluids over to Amsoil and check and lube all suspension componets. After replacing all ball joints and a few other small isssues I decided to change the fluid. I drained the transfercase fluid and notice a very significant amount of metal flake in the fluid. So I am trying to decide on what to do, rebuild the transfer case, find another NP 242 AMG (used, rebuilt or out of a Jeep?). I have done some research and the military ones are slightly different but can the cable speedo be changed to the electronic? OR any ides would be great.
On another note all other fluids were good and clean. Would a worn out chain or transfer case cause a vibration?
Thanks, for all the help.

A loose chain in the T-case can cause a vibration. The military T-cases are different but I don't know all of the differences. It should be much cheaper to rebuild the case you have than to replace it. Rebuild kits run several hundred dollars. Were the shavings/flake attracted by the magnet?
I am also a noob. I recently blew my transfer case. I've been looking for replacements as my original has a hole in it so I need a whole new unit. I was curious if you could transfer a case from a 2007 Colorado to a 2007 H3 adventure package? Question 2 is what is the difference between NR4 option and NR6 option?
The Colorado case is by far cheaper then the H3 case. The Colorado T case I found was priced at $180 no option listed. The h3 Tcase NR4 option for $800 and the NR6 option is $1100.
