If anyone would like to give this forum the mythical locations for where the "secret" VIN numbers are located, please do so now as I will be glass blasting, zincing, and repainting the frame for one of my H1s next week. It's the 1996 model 84 as mentioned in my signature.

 

I stripped the frame down to bare metal, and recoated, I did shoot pictures of the numbers I found at the very back of the frame, however those are _not_ VIN numbers, looks like some sort of spare part number or cast number to me.

Will drop the surgeon camera in there when I start to put the vehicle back together before filling the frame with sheep oil.

 

Usually on the sticker in the drivers door jamb and on a plate on the dash behind the windshield on the driver's side.

 

This far I have found the VIN number printed trice

* On the frame behind the right front wheel seen from outside the car
* Just behind the windshield
* On the sticker in the driver's door

What some people tell me is that there are some VIN numbers printed in the rear part of the frame; on the frame's interior? those I did not discover yet.

Only those engraved in the frame itself are valid for inspection here in Norway BTW.
