Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
I have a H2 that was originally imported from Florida to the UK, and I have now imported it into Cyprus but to register it I need to have the VIN number stamped on the chassis. I have looked everywhere but cannot find it. I am told its under the passenger front door somewhere on the frame but it is not, you can see in the attached pic.
In the 1st image there is a etched number but this is not VIN number
There is the VIN number in the windscreen and als the drivers door sticker but this is not good enough,
Can anybody help, a picture of the location would be good ;-)
The VIN Number is always, always a 17 Digit alphanumeric number, your picture could have it but looks too dirty to see. Not sure if a printed VIN label is acceptable as it could be faked.
On my truck there is a plate riveted to the dash on the left-hand side and is visibile through the windshield (not on the glass)
The engine is usually stamped but with a Short-VIN i.e. the last 8 digits of the Full-VIN so is not much help.
I'm not aware of the VIN being stamped on the frame anywhere either but it quite possibly is.
I know on older GM vehicles PART of the VIN was stamped on the frame as well as the engine block and firewall. It was never the full VIN that I am aware of though - just the plant code and last 6 digits of the VIN and it varied some on where it was stamped depending on the model and year. I'm not sure if they still do that on more modern (like 1990 and newer) vehicles though.
