What are the Pros & Cons of brake upgrades for earlier H1 models ?

Ive got a 1997.5 H1 wagon .... has OEM 10" brakes ( as Ive been told )..... Im upgrading a number of things and am considering brake options ....

Questions : are the 12" rotor upgrades of value ( Im assuming that this requires caliper upgrades to match the larger diameter 12" discs ) ?

Are the 6 piston caliper upgrades ( with 12" rotors of course ) of use outside of out and out racing or play racing about ?
