Great write up. I just did this to my new 2010. I did not have a 1 and 1/16 socket however a 27mm socket worked perfectly. It does take some patients as the front end measurements keep changing for a day or two due to driving it around. Thanks for the write up.

Whats the level of difficulty on this project on a 1-10 scale? I just got my H3 last week and am pretty eager to get this done as my first "change" if you will. I'm mechanically inclined for the most part, just haven't done much with cars other than oil, brakes, and a tune-up on my old vehicle.

Smile nice!!!

Thanks for the great instructions. Why did the factory make them uneven front to back anyway???? I'm a huge bilstein fan. Everything ive ever put them on did everything much better. Incredible shocks

it seems the rake is a mileage compromize and then the front suspension geometry is designed around it. the ride height is speced in the front alignment instructions. when you level it you move away from design specs and best handling but probably not a real big deal since almost everyone but us "60's"rake people do it!

some who go too high report weird handling.

u need to get it aligned after messing with the t bars

jus quick question, i want to do a torsion lift on my H3 but dont know if the shocks are really needed, do they absolutely need to be changed out after this?

moneys tight right now an i know my woman doesn't want any money spending on this haha

and one more question, what's the highest the lift will get you?

You don't need new shocks or bumpstops now. The front end will nosedive a little if you brake hard. You can add them later.
You will need a front end alignment after leveling. Should run about $80 to $100.
Don't raise higher than 23 1/2". Run that a few days and measure again. Adjust as needed, it may have settled some. Then get your alignment.
