WHY DOES HUMMER HAVE SOOOOO MANY HATERS?
It's all about what YOU want to drive. I have an H3 that replaced a 01 chevy silverado W/V8. i get better mpg in the H3, I don't take up nearly the space that the truck did on the road or in a parking lot and i am more comfortable in it. i also don't have to worry about freinds and family asking to usetheH3 to haul stuff or help move. i say let them be jealous.
i think we can all agree that diesel, by far, is the best immediate solution for a myriad of concerns regarding fuel production, mileage, etc. E85was a novel concept and all, but why wouldthe US insist on producing Ethanol from the most inefficientproductwhich produces both the least concentrated amounts of ethanol, butalso uses the most energy to make? ah, the lobbyists are abound in allshapes and forms, but the ethanol ones really went to town. enter the typical american farmer thatjumped on the wagon to plant corn this past season hoping to take advantage of some addiitonal government subsidies and all, only to find out that we've got more corn than we know what to do with and that they'll be lucky to break even.
Diesel is, and has been, the way to go.we can "cut" it with all sorts of by-product junk. if i recall, the first diesel format engine invented was largely fueled by essentially a blend of cooking oil. \
Bring on the masses of diesel engines withHUGE amounts ofhp and torque that will allow us tomix up a batch with recycled by-products and allowus to run the gauntlet coast to coast onjust a couple tanks of gas. i give it to zee germans.......they really take us to taskwith their engines. i'm loving theH3, but also love my bimmers.

Not too many haters here in the midwest. I've never had anybody say anything negative, flip the bird, or any of that kind of stuff. I pulled up at a stoplight the other day next to a Prius that had a personalized license plate that said something like TREE HGR, expecting to get the bird... and he wouldn't make eye contact with me.
Oh well... to each his own. I'm happy we have a HUMMER, and happy it is bright red so nobody can miss it!

Wow. Long, but good, thread. First, I want to say that I liked HummerGuy's post on page 4 and I agree with everything but "falsified WMD reports". The stuff was there but we just candy-@$$ed around too long and gave them time to move/hide it but that is for another thread in another place. Thank God we had a President with ***** back then.
My Hummer gets about double the mileage of the Jeep Wagoneer that it replaced. And it even gets better mileage than my Cadillac SLS that I used to drive daily. So I figure I am doing the environment a favor. Of course I am sick to death of hearing about carbon footprint and global warning and all other such nonsense. When I was at the dealer a few weeks ago having my Hummer serviced I strolled around the showroom looking at new Cadillacs. They actually have a Global Warming Rating listed on the window sticker!!! I guess when the gov't owns the company they can make stuff like that happen. Seeing that, plus all of the other stuff that has gone on for the last few years, has made me completely lose faith in GM. Guess I'll have to buy a Ford next time.
Another thing that gets me was also mentioned in this thread - irreversible damage... That's another big load of stinking propoganda. Our Earth is much stronger than Liberals and Eco-***** (love that term!) give her credit for, but it is only because it doesn't fit their agenda. Look at the places on Earth where people have lived but them moved away from. Nature takes over very quickly. Remember back in the 70s when we were 'out of oil'? But then we had oil again and now 30 years later they are talking about running out of oil. One thing I have learned from living in an oil town is that oil is also a renewable resource. If a well goes dry, they just cap it off. Come back 5-10 years later and start pumping again. Oil doesn't really come from dead dinosaurs! haha
People keep mentioning the batteries in hybrids. Yeah, the huge piles of batteries are going to be a problem someday but what about the current effects. Electricity doesn't just happen. It is made by using natural resources, in most cases coal or oil. Solar and hydro are not nearly ready to take on the burden of powering our society. Besides, if anyone complains about the price of gas, plug in your car every night and see what it costs you! My power bill in SoCal is already $850 a month! No I don't use all that much, I just live in a stupid place where they overcharge for everything. Last thing about the hybrids... Every time I see one of these Prius owners that are saving the world by driving this little box, they are flying past me at 90mph! I don't care what you are driving, at that speed it is killing your fuel economy. The Toyota handbook for the Prius says that for every MPH over 50 you are driving you lose approximately 1 MPG. So I figure I am getting better mileage than they are!
And remember, in China the H3 qualifies as a high efficiency vehicle and gets a tax break.
(Note: No need to tell me to simmer down. Not upset at all, just posting my opinion on the matter.

16. That is the number. What number you may ask?
Since I have been driving my H3 I have kept count of the number of people driving a Prius who I have seen flick a cigarette butt out their window. It currently stands at 16.

most of the people who talk sh-t drive garbage but it's still disheartening.
