Default Rare Hummers

I haven't had to post much lately; my 2008 H3 Base (180k) has been running great. Pretty sure it's got a rear seal leak and the transmission is getting jumpy in first, but over all it just keeps plugging along. I'm taking care of my aging parents in central California, so it's been making the 5-hour trip without an issue.

Within a year or two, I'll be looking to upgrade, and I'd like to stay with Hummer. I'm eyeballing a H2 SUT or a H3T Alpha.
What are the pros and cons of both?

If the body is good and under carriage mostly free of rust pocket some coin and just repair what is starting to give you issues. A rebuilt trans will give you at least another 150k, If your H3 is LS equipped more then likely its the rear main seal plate ( common problem) and not to difficult to fix. A crate engine for a full refresh and you good to go for many more miles.

Let me say this and hopefully others should chime in, I believe its easier and cheaper to keep an H3 (especially if its a V8) then an H2 and even more difficult if the H2 is an 08/09 because there is a much less parts base.

It's wicked clean and the 5. I think we are the second owners. Thanks H2.

Without a doubt KEEP IT! Grab yourself a can of Seafoam Trans tune, if the current fluid is in good condition dump it in. If its burnt or brown have the fluid changed with the filter. I was looking about 2 years ago for a clean H3 with V8, very hard to find and usually rusted underneath or the body or interior was a mess.

They are money in the bank much like anything else in the consumer Hummer lineup.

An Alpha H3T is going to cost you, especially if it is a clean low miles example. Then bump that price if you are looking for an Alpha Off Road H3T.

If you test drive the H2... you will love the ride... but it does feel much larger than the H3.
