Brakes lights staying on

Brakes lights staying on
About a month ago, I came out one morning and my brake lights were on. They had not been on when I went in the night before. Sadly, my battery was drained enough that the truck had to be boosted. I checked the most obvious stuff, starting with the brake light switch. No change.
So I was looking around under the dash, and over to the left kick panel, towards the front of the truck from the parking brake, There looks to be a couple of gray wires that are cut. Not broken or anything, but cleanly cut. Messing with them though, still had no effect on the brake lights.
Finally I just started trying to find anything under there that would make the lights go off. I pushed against a wiring harness against the left fender wall of the truck and the lights went off. When they went off, I heard something that sounded like a solenoid under the dash click.
Fast forward a month. I've had no further issues. Of all times, I'm leaving my grandmother's funeral and I see that the brake lights are on. I try to mess with the same wires but no luck. After just random pushing, they went off and I went home. They were not on when I went in. But when I came out the next morning, my battery was dead again. Boosted the truck and traced the actual problem to a connection on that left wall. It is a big connector that goes in to some funky housing. I can squeeze around on it and the lights go off.
Has anyone had this issue before? Looking for an actual fix. Thought about putting a tie wrap around it to see if that would hold it. Just don't want to get stranded somewhere with a dead battery, or rear ended because my brake lights are on all the time.
