Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Will 2008 cat back exhaust fit on an older H2?

Default Will 2008 cat back exhaust fit on an older H2?

Just as the title states. I know some of the early 2007 H2's had a mixed bag of parts even. I saw one guys thread who had an early 2007 with the 6.0 but he posted that his had the 2007+ style exhaust.

I'm thinking there is probably not much difference but I really don't know for sure. I can get a new in box GM Performance Touring (Borla) exhaust setup (says is for 2007-2008) for about $400 versus over a grand for one thats specific for a 2003-2006.

I really want to buy it....

Well..... I figured it out. After looking at a parts manual and pictures online it appears as though the 2003-2006 models have a true dual exhaust system from the engine to just after the muffler (the muffler is dual in and dual out) where it then goes into a Y pipe and a single tip. The 2007+ models have the headers going to a Y pipe then single exhaust to the back.

Oh yeah - I meant to post this and forgot!

IF you do have a 2007-2008 H2 you can get the Borla catback (GM Performance OEM) setup directly from Borla for dirt cheap.

https://www.borla.com/products/hum_h..._19157465.html

They have in in their clearance corner for just $339.75 - with the shipping for me it would end being under $400 to my door!

I really, really wish that set would fit mine. They also have some tips specific for Hummers in their closeout section too. Not really interested in bling myself though.

Thanks for the link. i am still going back and fourth in my mind on what to replace my system with. Borla has always been an option. I have a magnaflow now but it is kind of weak and drones on the highway. I am thinking about a corsa but is it going to be too loud. Not for me, but my wife and neighbors. lol How does the Borla sound?

Well.... on my GMC 5.3 pickup I've had a Flowmaster muffler on it forever. Its a 50 series and is very mellow with a nice deep low rumble. No drone, not raspy or poppy at all but quite loud when you get on it. Definitely far from stock but not too loud.

I sent Flowmaster an email asking what they would recommend to get close to the same sound on my H2. They said since the 03-06 H2's have a semi-decent stock exhaust setup from the factory (true dual with approx 2-7/8" pipe) that for close to the same sound my best bet would be the Flowmaster 50 Series Big Block #527504 which is a near exact fit to just replace the stock muffler. Looked around and its obvious Flowmaster has MAP on their stuff. Everywhere has that muffler for the exact same price to the penny at $197.77. eBay sent me a special "bucks" offer to earn 10% eBay bucks for a couple of days, found a seller with them that had best offer. Offered $165 (free shipping too). They accepted. So I'll get $16.50 to spend in a month or so I really ended up at just under $150. I'll get a local muffler guy to put it on one day next week after it comes in.
