i seem to have a split in the paint (Puter) 2004 H2, above the Hood Latch and below the black vent on the side......

I took it to the Dealer, and the body shop advised me that it was split through the body and they were reluctent to mess with it, it seems there are many of these splits on the left sides of the H2's running around on the 2003-2006 H2's so far


Any one else with this problem???????

Im a Keep it clean fanatic.........i Noticed it about 3 weeks ago while waxing the truck, you really have to look to see it......if you just wash the truck you probley woulent notice it, till you wax it....

Im also looking for a 2004 L/Side Front door Panel,(Had to glue it togather,for now) have had one on order now for 1 1/2 years, no luck yet.......from sub suppliers........

Take it to another body shop and ask their opinion. The body shops of dealerships are usually not the best place to get repairs done.

 

I can't imagine waiting a year and a half for a panel that can be had on eBay today....

 

I had an 04 H2 with Orange paint, Sold it to a friend of mine a few years ago, and it has the same thing, I had the fracture fixed (similar to corvette stress fractures except this was just a single crack) by a guy that does alot of corvette paintwork, repair lasted about a year. Since then my friend had to have it redone, by another quality shop, twice, and it's back again...... The shop he took it to now told him to find a new hood.. I don't know if maybe the hood needs extra bracing inside or what...
