Default H2 problems

Please help.
My 2003 H2 almost ran out of gas a few nights ago. The dash said there was 23 miles of gas left. The next morning the engine started and then stalled 3 secs later. I put 4 galls of gas into the tank. The engine stalled again 3 secs later.
A local Hummer dealer said to bring it in and they would reset the inboard computer. Another Hummer dealer said it doesn't need reset but wants to drop the tank to look at the fuel pump. Last night I disconnected the battery. Today I reconnected the batery and checked all the fuses. They are okay. The engine stalled again after 3 secs and also the check engine light flashed until I tried starting the engine again.
Has this happened to anyone that can advise me what to do.Please help.
Thanks,
Doug

I really need to find someone who can suggest an answer to my problem. I am a senior citizen just living on my pension and cannot afford to send my Hummer h2 to a dealer.
Please, if anyone can suggest a solution I will be very grateful.

You need to check your fuel pressure...try turning your key forward a couple of times to build up pressure...like said above could be fuel pump.

1. Never let you tank run that low!
2. By running you tank that low you prob sucked in the Krud that is sitting on the bottom of the tank and plugged your pre-filter or worse gunked up your fuel pump!
