Hummer - Like Nothing Else...........

Description:
Subject : Bring Back The Hummer Brand

Attn : General Motors (All Staff)

Dear All,

I Own two Hummers (H2 & H3) and I would like to share some ideas regarding the hummer brand. I have witnessed many news articles in 2014 about GM Considering to bring back the Hummer brand to compete with the Jeep Wrangler? But past 5 months no update was visible. Its understood that the GM need to cancel several brands to obtain the government bailout, for Example “Pontiac” & “Hummer “was discontinued, but the major difference between Pontiac and Hummer is that Pontiac was not producing iconic cars, most of the models were based on Chevrolets (Even the Pontiac Trans-AM, Grand-AM & G8) but Hummers were different, what we called them “Hummer Like Nothing Else” so when the Hummer was discontinued, there was no other car to replace it and all the Hummer Fans went on to buy Jeep Wranglers and Toyota FJ Cruisers. Even China understood the value of the Hummer, now days china is producing its own Hummer, the Dongfeng Mengshi, which costs far more than the H2 with a price tag exceeding $100,000?? China wants to continue an American Icon that we discontinued??? Are we witnessing the backwardness and end of superiority of America and American Auto Industry???

As we are aware GMC/Chevrolet is selling the Yukon/Tahoe more than the Japanese Landcruiser  in North America and Middle East, so why cant the Hummer built a limited edition vehicle to keep the brand and prestige alive??? Mercedes is making the limited G-Wagon, Land Rover is making the Defender, so why Hummer is not building a vehicle to keep the Glory? Hummer is not just a 4x4 it was like the image of America on Four Wheels. (Power, Durability, Strength) America should not abandon this iconic vehicle, which has a Huge fan following.

Honestly speaking Hummer H2 and H3 was too soft compared to H1, as a Owner i fitted custom build chassis and a Bull bar to my ones to make them tough, also if there was a Solid front Axle in front it would have been so easier for the off-road enthusiast to modify/lift their H3 and H2s. We hope and pray that the next hummer will be made strong just like the H1 with thick body panels and a strong chassis similar to H1, also with front and real soil axles and locking differentials. price should be similar to the Toyota Landcruiser (V8) also reliability should be similar to the Chevrolet/GMC HD Pickups.

As a Hummer owner and a hummer fan i feel very sad to see the brand getting buried forever and the Chinese are exporting their own Hummer (Fake) worldwide also in middle east china is trying to start up few dealerships for the Dongfeng Mengshi which will be the final tomb stone for Hummer and the American Auto industry. please don't listen to environmentalists, they are just a bunch of hypocrites!!! because they do not comment about the Nissan Armada(V8) , Toyota Lancruiser (V8) Range Rover (V8) or the Dongfeng Mengshi, they all want to kill only the Hummer because its American. Environmental protesters are nothing but a extended hand of other nations business tycoons. There are countries who make Millions of Buses and Trucks with huge amount of carbon dioxide emissions, but why no one talk about it???? is it because those Buses and Trucks are not American???

Please take some action to bring back the Hummer brand because, its a brand that has a future if marketed the proper way. if emission regulations are a issue then lets build a Hybrid Hummer, like the supercar companies did, the new La Ferrari, Posche 918 and Mclaren P1 are hybrids, so for sure Hummer can do it.

Also due to the Rules and regulations if its difficult to build a Hummer in USA, best option will be to start a factory in a cheap energy nation such as Saudi Arabia, Middle east will have crude oil until 2050, so even if the Large SUVs die out any other part of the world, Middle East will have them for decades to come. Also if America is a expensive base to build the Hummer, GM could negotiate with a Thailand, Phillipines or a Chinese company to build the Hummer with cheap labor input from them but the Management and Technical staff from USA.

I Wish a bright future for Hummer and all the people who Love Hummer.

Thanks and Regards

David
