Default WTB: OEM step bar step pad

Hey all,

I have no posted here is several years. But I need you assistance in locating an obsolete part.

I have a 2008 H3 with Chrome OEM step bars/nerf bars. Went through the automatic rip parts off of your Hummer car wash a couple of days ago. Later that night I found missing one of the plastic step pads. Apparently the car wash brushes got under the pad and ripped it off. Don't know this for sure but it would not surprise. me.
OK, so, I have called several dealerships and done Internet research to try and find this part. Here in lies the rub. I can get the part but the GM dealers want $35 to $40 for the pad and anywhere between $200 and $350 for shipping regardless of location. When I inquired why the ludacris shipping cost they told me it was because of the carrier and the contract the dealers had with the carriers. I inquired about a dealer to dealer transfer and was told that those have to be approved by GM corporate and if they (corporate) found a part that was discontinued, like the pad, they just ignored the request. I think they were blowing smoke up my rear.
So what I need is the plastic step pad for a OEM round step bar.
Please contact me off list at:

Thanks
Gary

You can buy an entire new set of used OEM Nurse bars on Ebay or Craig's List for $100.

Dealerships are the LAST place to do business with for anything other than warranty repairs.

Good luck.

GM dealers can't go above list price, yet can charge whatever they want for shipping and handling. Discontinued parts will bring a nice profit to those dealers that hold on to them and wait for a sucker to buy them with their "handling charge".
In the meantime, why would you just replace the pad? Something gotta be wrong with the bars for the pad to get taken away in a car wash, don't you think?
Would you patch an old/worn out tire when it leaks?
Get yourself a new set of bars, step pads included: 2006-2010 Hummer H3 Nerf Bars $119.99
