Default WTB H1 Gasser

hi friends. looking to buy my first Hummer and started doing research about 2 weeks ago. So far I have found 2 candidates, both 1995, Gas, 12k and 54k miles. I am located in St Louis. One is in Indiana at Land Rover dealer and the other in New Jersey at more of a boutique dealer ie Ferrari, Porsche ect ect. was hoping to get a second set of eyes on both candidates and offer thoughts. also would be open to other options. thanks

Further travel for you, Imo, definitely the H1 at the "boutique" dealer in jersey. That 1 is clean from what I see in the pics. Do due diligence and make an offer. Why would anyone give up that ride @12k miles, unless the owner is a gambler and needed the money? Nice find.

The truck at Top Gear looks pretty clean. I could not see any rust. The body pictures were not good enough to tell if there was corrosion in any of the normal places. Looks like that dealer specializes in nice vehicles so that would give me a little more confidence.

thank you guys very very much. the Indiana one is 4 hours away, piece of cake day trip right. salesman sent me video which looked really really good BUT then sent me the "problem areas" aka RUST and well see for yourself. SOME UGLY SPOTS eh...
the red one in NJ indeed looks very clean. red one asking price is $6kish more. But the logistics worry me. do I travel there to look at it, touch it, drive it...ya know the usual things we paranoid folk do? do I hire a third party to inspect? just so many unknowns. except shipping would be around $650 to St Louis, thats the only thing I know. thanks again guys and hope to join the fam soon.

Get a 1 way plane ticket.. Test drive it to an auto shop for an inspection. Make an offer, drive it home. History looks clean, original owner in NY for 18yrs, Spent most of the 24yrs in NY/NJ area.

1995 h1

also I have been trying to find comps to ensure these are priced fairly...not much out there to butt up against.

Original msrp was $57k and if you look at the link Bronxteck posted above, they were originally asking $58k 2yrs ago. Hard to find a comp with only 12k miles on it. Imo, if it's clean/rustfree, the price is fair, however knowing they have been sitting on it for awhile I'm sure they will come down. Always, start low when you wheel and deal, make them sweat.

The gas trucks bring considerably less than the diesel trucks. I think the red truck is priced fairly.
