XM Radio to merge with Sirius Satellite Radio

and I CERTAINLY hope the devices won't need to be changed out. I have entirely too much invested in them, both car wise and house wise :/

Ain't that the truth!!!!! I'm on my 3rd unit myself as a result of as many trucks ... I ended up getting a Starmate Add-on tuner instead of a vehicle specific one this time .. THINKING that hey, this will outlast the truck .. Now I'm realizing it may outlast the whole technology too LOL! I do have the boombox for it so that's another potentially wasted purchase .. in this case it was a stocking stuffer from the wife so even worse.. :/
I'm NOT pleased to hear this but I'm glad I talked myself out of the "life time" subscription and the home unit ... that would have spun me in to whole new dimensions of pi$$ed off ... I guess we'll have to wait and see ... :/

As long as they don't raise their rates this should be good news. I thought I read somwhere on XM's website(but don't quote me on this) that we wouldn't have to switch out existing radios.
