XM question
if your h3 has the xm antenna on the roof then it should have an xm ready radio...do you have the antenna? If so and you cannot get into the xm mode by using the band button then you do not have an xm headunit. Either there was a mix u at the factory and the wrong head unit was installed or the dealership needed a radio for a repair and took on eout of a truck on the lot and later replaced it with the wrong type. I've seen it done a few times.

All 07's do not come with xm. I have an07H3x with the Monsoon system and it did not come with xm. I didn't want it anyway as I prefer Sirius.

Not all H3s come with it. You won't know just by looking at the radio or antenna. If you press the band button and it goes from am to xm than you got it. If it was on your window sticker than have them install it, it is a simple fix the factory radio has the connections there for it.
Hey guys when the merger of XM & Sirius is done near the end of the year, you won't need to change anything. You will be able to get both on either reciever. If you do a google search for XM/Sirius Merger you can read all about it. There's going to be all kinds of different packages available.
If you are trying tostart XM nowyou will need to go to ch1 preview and push the tune or vol button until yourID comes up. Then call XM with your ID code. It takes only a few mins to do. I haveXM now in my H3 and Ihate it.
I have Sirius in my other car and it rocks, it's much better, but I'm going to wait a few months and not start removing stuff and changing stuff around. The merger has a ways to go yet, however they are real sure it's going to happen.
If you do want Sirius now check out Crutchfield. They have Siuius box for GM. They saythe XM box isbehind the glove box??? I droped my glovebox door to the floor and all I see is A/C stuff. I think it's above the glove box.I pulled the passenger side dash panel next the the glove box and I think I see it up there...
Go to the reviews section for thr Sirius box and there is a lot of good info there. People say that the roof mounted XM antenna that came with your Hummer works finefor the Sirius, you just need to remove the yellow clip on the connector. They explain a lot about it, but it's GM in general.....Good Luck

The quick way to tell if you have XM is do like blackstangs posted, and that's check the trucks' invoice/sticker. If you can't cycle through the XM bands with your radio's band button, even if there is no subscription tied to this radio, you would stillbe able to pull up channel 1 and theXM tunerI.D. number.
Looking at the antenna is not a valid way to determin if you have XM, unless your willing to drop the headliner. There are 3 antenna build options on the H3, each with a different wiring harness plug underneath. The antenna's are identical on the top (visable) side.
If I was in your shoes, I'd go back to the dealer, and ask for the sales manager, and explain that you bought this peticlular 3 because you were told by the slaesman that it had XM. They should do right by upgrading your radio/tuner/harness, etc.
