Wow!,,rusty torsion bar
I've noticed some rusting along the welds as well, and random TINY specs on the frame. Floor pans are crystal-clear (or should I say "crystal boulder-grey" hehe). I picked up some Rustoleum Rust Inhibitor, made sure everything was VERY clean, and sprayed the Inhibitor over it. A few days later I went to Car Quest and picked up some rubberized undercoating that comes in a can (like $8 a can) and sprayed the HELL outta the frame. This stuff comes out very powerfully, and sits and bubbles in place for a few mins on the metal. After it dries it dries very 'rough' and tough looking. My buddy did the same thing to his F150 and his underbody looks amazing.

Some guys on here swear by this stuff called POR15. I haven't tried it yet but will prolly get some and use it before the winter to see how good it is. Figure it can't hurt.
A few years ago we designed and built 44 Replica Cobras. Our painter would ALWAYS spray the metal with OSPHO and let it sit for a day..Best stuff I ever saw..Available at most big hardware chains..PS..You can put it in a spray bottle and do the underside in 10 minutes...
por15 is great stuff! just messy and expensive
I used Rustoleum Rust Inhibitor, which is thin like spray-paint primer. It's MADE to be sprayed over rust; as long as the rust isn't flaking. It then inhibits the rust, and makes it a solid surface once again. I did my whole frame and any rust spots with the Rust Inhibitor, then once I've done several days of touch-ups and drying, I began with the thick rubberized undercoating (which looks awesome so far btw.. its just messy and a pain in the ***).
